450 mile, five day cycle challenge to Edinburgh 16 – 20 June 2009

Day 1
Leaving from The Pace Centre in Aylesbury we will pass through Bedford before stopping for the night in Wansford near Peterborough.

Day 2
From Wansford we cycle on through Lincoln on the way to an overnight stop just around the corner from Scunthorpe FC. Sadly (or luckily for us) there is no game on that evening.

Day 3
The going gets tough as we embark on the hardest and longest day in the saddle as we tackle the rugged North York Moors, through the beautiful city of York before resting our aching limbs just south of Middlesbrough.

Day 4
Thankfully today is a relatively ‘easy’ one as we head to Otterburn via Hadrian’s Wall along the way.

Day 5
Our final day sees us climb through the Northumberland National Park and into Scotland, via Jedburgh, for a triumphant finish over the cobbles at Edinburgh Castle.

Rob talks
The way I see it is if there’s one thing better than being out riding a bike it’s being out riding a bike with a great bunch of guys, doing something useful. Joining Team Ripcor to ride from Aylesbury to Dublin to raise funds for the Pace Centre was arguably the best thing I did in 2008. We vowed we’d give it a rest in 2009. We did a u-turn, we couldn’t help it! The Force is strong. So we’re off to Edinburgh in June, and I’m praying for a Southerly… To see Rob’s profile click here.
